Piloting the bullet-shaped Bell X-1 rocket plane in 1947, Chuck Yeager became the first person to exceed the speed of sound while in horizontal flight. The most extensive such experiment took place over Oklahoma City in 1964. Assuming this campaign takes place on schedule, it'll be 60 years after the FAA's Oklahoma City tests.
