Then consider that in order to actually go any farther than the neighbood store, one still had to have ANOTHER car. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. So just use a portable electric generator in the trunk, from the hardware store to charge the batteries while you drive.
