The 2022 Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is powered by a 2.5-liter liter non-turbocharged, 4-cylinder engine that produces 165 horsepower by itself, but when adding-in the motor generator that number increases to 200 hp. Note: The Escape PHEV is rated by the EPA to have 37 miles of all-electric driving range.

In addition to a recent electric car deal with NISSAN Motors ( NSANY ), Portland General Electric, the Oregon state governor and GE have also announced a joint venture with Mitsubishi Motors ( MMTOF.PK ) to develop and sell the Miev electric car with 85 mile range by 2011. By 2011 look for a larger THINK Ox. a subsidiary of Ener1 Inc.

Millions will plug-in their electric vehicles (EV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and fuel cell vehicles (FCV) at night when electricity is cheap, then plug-in during the day when energy is expensive and sell those extra electrons at a profit. Millions of EVs and PHEVs would expand the sale of electricity as an alternative to oil.
