Between 2006 and 2015, California’s GDP per capita grew by almost $5,000 per person, nearly double the growth experienced by the US as a whole. Therefore, it is critical that the next generation of climate policies be designed to deliver steeper reductions. But the effects of these efforts seem to be reaching a plateau.
