It does not impact existing vehicles on the road today, which will still be legal to own and drive. Existing LEV III standards require the light-duty vehicle fleet to meet a declining fleet average standard for non-methane organic gases and oxides of nitrogen (NMOG+NO x ) that reaches 0.030 grams per mile in the 2025 model year.
