Analysis by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) argues that EVs are the quickest means to decarbonize motorized transport. As electricity increasingly comes from renewables, total electric vehicle GHG emissions will continue downward, but that will take at least a decade or more to happen everywhere across the U.S.

But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. Not really sure where all the money is going, but it seems like the Volt is already over-priced and under performing.
