An actuator in the exhaust system, as fitted to the first SQ5 TDI, gives the V6 a sonorous sound. This offers the advantage since exhaust gas cleaning responds more quickly. The exhaust manifold benefits from improved insulation; the exhaust gas reaches the optimum temperature more quickly after a cold start.
