Methanol fuel cell developer and manufacturer Blue World Technologies ( earlier post ) is starting limited production—the first step in commercializing its methanol fuel cell technology. The methanol fuel cell technology has potential in several markets such as maritime, heavy-duty, stationary, and passenger vehicles.

However, widespread commercial use of electric drive on long-haul and heavy-duty routes is not yet feasible. We also need to accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to clean alternative energy sources. We believe synthetic fuels will reach mass market viability in the next five to ten years.

Washington state offers tax credits for up to 50% of the costs of equipment and related costs.
