Durable ruthenium and graphene fuel cell catalyst matches performance of platinum alloys

Scientists at Rice University and their colleagues in China have fabricated a durable catalyst for high-performance fuel cells by attaching single ruthenium atoms to nitrogen-doped graphene. Fuel cells, which directly convert the chemical energy from fuel into electricity, have been recognized as electrocatalysts for PEMFCs.
