Estonia launches nationwide fast charging network

Estonia has become the world’s first country to launch a nationwide fast-charging network for electric vehicles, using technology provided by ABB. Alongside the comprehensive charging infrastructure, Estonia offers subsidies of up to 50% of the purchase price of electric vehicles to encourage their adoption.

Mitsubishi Corp. to provide 507 i-MiEVs to Estonian Government; CHAdeMO quick charging network for the country

Under the terms of the GIS contract, MC will purchase 10 million tons of emissions rights and provide the 507 electric vehicles, as well as support with regard to the introduction and dissemination of CHAdeMO quick charging technology ( earlier post ). Mitsubishi begins delivery of the largest order of i-MiEVs to date; 50 of 507 to Estonian government

The provision of the 507 i-MiEVs to the Estonian government was concluded between Mitsubishi Corporation and the Estonian government this past March as a part of an agreement to purchase 10 million tons of emissions rights. MMC plans to complete shipment of the entire order to Estonia by the end of the 2011 fiscal year.
