The MY14 B-Class Electric Vehicle will be available beginning in mid-July to dealers in California; Connecticut; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; New Jersey; New York; Oregon; Rhode Island; and Vermont. Maximum torque is 251 lb-ft (340 N·m)—approximately equivalent to the torque from a modern three-liter gasoline engine.

The gasoline-powered GV70 is the best-selling Genesis model, so the addition of an all-electric version of this popular SUV will find a place in many garages as GV70 owners make the transition to electric propulsion. Both GV70s share a platform that was specifically designed for a gasoline engine and electric motors. Wink, wink.

The Sonata Plug-in Hybrid will be distributed in California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont, but customers in any of the other states can custom order the vehicle at their local Hyundai dealer. For example, charging could be set to start at 10 p.m. Car Finder.

To demonstrate its growth, there are currently four stand-alone Genesis dealers in America, but 100+ will open their doors within the next year. Driving mostly in the Comfort or Sport modes (and refraining from depressing the Boost button too often) we returned to our starting point with a 7% battery charge.
