Rush to switch to low carbon generation. Slashing gas storage facilities. No new nuclear power plants operational. Right now, production is low in Russia, so the cost has increased. We also need more power storage in the form of batteries and other technologies to store power when the sun shines and the wind blows.

The vision is fuelled by the fear of climate change and the need to find green alternatives to dirty coal, unpopular nuclear power and unreliable gas imports from Russia. This may be the lowest cost energy storage solution just because we are going to make the batteries anyway. the biggest cuts anywhere in the world.
