Competing in the premium midsize SUV category, the 2021 Cadillac XT5 is right in the middle of stiff competition, including models from Acura, Audi, BMW, Genesis, Infiniti, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Tesla and Volvo. We were surprised to cross the 30 mpg mark for this 3,915-pound, five-passenger midsize SUV.

A Premium Small SUV with Handling Like a Sports Wagon. The all-new 2022 Genesis GV70 slots in just below the larger GV80 SUV, both of which will be joined soon by the all-electric GV60. Clean Fleet Report would not be surprised if Genesis has even more SUVs on the drawing board, with most of them being hybrids, plug-in hybrids or EVs.

That’s a good place to start when summing-up the Mazda line-up of crossover/SUVs, its one remaining sedan and, of course, the delightful MX-5 Miata. Turbo AWD at 22 mpg city/27 highway/24 combined. mpg, but a somewhat better 29 mpg on a 94-mile all-freeway run with the adaptive cruise control set at 65 mph.
