ABB has won orders worth over $300 million to supply technologies for the world’s first 1,100 kilovolt (kV) ultra-high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission link. The orders were booked in the second quarter of 2016. ABB supplies include advanced converter transformers and components such as bushings and tap changers.
