BMW Connected, a new personal mobility companion, made its world debut at Microsoft Build 2016, Microsoft’s developer conference, last week. The first version—called BMW Connected North America—is now available at the Apple App Store to BMW ConnectedDrive customers in the US for iOS devices.

The BMW Group’s Efficient Dynamics strategy is targeting reductions in fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions while at the same time increasing performance. In the area of passenger compartment heating, BMW is exploring the use of heat pumps as well as of infrared systems. By using a heat pump, even this requirement can be realized.

Luckily no one was really at Plug-In 2009 to hear the Three Car Stooges at this point, they don’t have any pleasant surprises in store for us. Too bad BMW isn’t planning on building and selling this car for real.
