San Francisco selects BAE Systems Series-ER for 68 transit buses for Green Bus Zones

Buses can now switch to battery power from a combustion engine, temporarily eliminating diesel emissions when they cross the threshold of a green zone. With Series-ER, buses are programmed using global positioning software to turn off the bus engine once it enters the green zone and operate solely on electric battery energy.

FTA awarding $55M to 10 projects deploying battery-electric and fuel-cell buses

The San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD), the transit provider for Stockton and San Joaquin County in California, will receive funding to purchase five Proterra battery-electric buses and a charging station. The circulator serves the city’s central business district, the Uptown area and historic Oak Cliff neighborhoods.
