Wright also developed the Wrightspeed X1 , an EV sports car known for beating gasoline-powered sports cars in a drag race. He was also the owner of the California Poppy Porsche 914.

Battery-powered motors are more efficient than gasoline engines. The employees pull into carports that are covered with solar panels and plug their cars into the 100 available charging stations. Nearby, in downtown San Jose, the city has reserved street parking for electric vehicles and installed charging stations.
