Along with the mid-term NGP 2010 plan, originally announced in December 2006, Nissan is reviewing its long-term CO 2 emissions-reduction scenarios. According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4), global CO 2 concentration in the atmosphere should be stabilized below 450 ppm, Nissan noted.

Nissan will introduce EVs in the United States in 2010 and will mass market EVs globally two years later. In conjunction with these efforts, Nissan has committed to make available a supply of electric vehicles to the region’s public and private fleets in 2010, the year Nissan’s electric vehicle will be ready for the commercial market.
