Terry Tamminen, Arnold's green guru, showed up at the Santa Monica AltCar Show in a BMW Hydrogen 7. But of course he's been hydrogen's biggest booster, despite its inefficiencies and impracticalities. The gasoline-only production version of this car, the 7 Series, is available today for between $75,800 and $122,600.

In principle, NGVs can also provide a pathway to hydrogen but more research is required to assess how and to which degree this can be accomplished. Hit the jump for a comparison that includes plenty of pics and video. Of course, everything has its drawbacks and one problem with charging at home is that it is not an option available for some city dwellers. Most charge points available today take much longer to re-energize batteries than it does to fill a gas-powered cars tank.
