Electrify America announced an agreement with Kia Motors America to offer Kia Select, a new charging program with optimized pricing for the Kia Niro electric vehicle (EV) model on Electrify America’s direct current (DC) fast charging network. The program also waives session fees and has no subscription fees for participants.

The converted Kia achieved speeds of 100 mph and a range of 150 miles on a single charge, going from zero to sixty mph in six seconds. The kit is available now from Leo Motors on an order basis.

Power comes from a 93kWh gross (83.7kWh usable) battery which feeds two motors – a 175kW motor powers the front axle and is shared with the regular e-Tron GT, but the rear is larger and more powerful, at 335kW. A 50kW DC charger boosts the battery from five to 80 per cent in around 1.5 Ford Mustang Mach E.
