In the US, President Obama declared an American goal of putting one million EVs on the road by 2015. The automobile industry has said that without additional government subsidies they can only sell 600,000 electric cars by 2020 at best. Denmark has a goal of 200,000 EVs by 2020, recently reduced from 400,000.
