The e-gas plant only operates when there is too much electricity from renewable sources in the grid. Audi operates a research facility in Hobbs, New Mexico for the production of e-ethanol and e-diesel in partnership with Joule. The automobile industry already invests in the production of CO 2 -neutral synthetic fuels.
