Unlike Lithium, hydrogen is the most plentiful element in the universe ( Lithium is the key component in electric vehicle batteries).

Continues promotion and development of hydrogen as long-term strategy. Hyundai Partnering with Korean battery companies for hybrids. Company says its focusing on gasoline and hydrogen. Blue Concept PHEV Van with diesel or hydrogen fuel cells and rooftop photovoltaic. No announced plans. Expects production around 2014.

Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. If our country is going to spend money like a drunk sailor we should have spent it on building renewable energy power plants like Wind and Geothermal. So I think its a safe bet for GM. assuming electric cars actually have a future.
