Several automakers, including Hyundai , Kia, and Tesla, are now offering long-range EVs (those with at least 300 miles range) that are cheaper to buy than the average gas-powered car in the US. Electric vehicle prices have fallen significantly in the US after a series of aggressive price cuts led by Tesla over the past few years.

With low-cost electric cars, Hyundai Motor , along with Kia, surged past American automakers Ford and GM in the US EV market in the first three months of 2024. Tesla’s Model 3 was the next closest to hitting the mark.

Hyundai is offering two of the cheapest cars to lease (EV or gas-powered), the IONIQ 6 and Kona EV, in the US, with prices as low as $169 per month. Including Kia and Genesis, Hyundai Motor was second, behind only Tesla. With up to 350 miles range, fast charging in under 20 minutes, and an affordable price, the IONIQ 6 offers it all.
