They are either glorified golf cart city cars like this one or they are only for the very wealthy like the Tesla. There is significant cause vs. effect debate on CO2. Think has established a U.S. before 2010.

You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart. The big deal was that the oil industry saw real competition and persuaded GM to abandon the project and crush them all like cans. Generating electricity from wind and geothermal rather than a CO2 producing sources would help alleviate that problem.
