It will appear in Europe next year as the Opel Ampera and in Australia as the Holden Volt in 2012. If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal.
