Earlier in 2019, the study showed that in 2019, electric vehicles powered by batteries were not yet cost competitive when compared to gasoline, diesel, or compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles. The assumption has been made that the purchased and owned vehicles by the ride-hailing drivers are meant to an amortization period of 5 years.
