EPA Proposes New Regulations for Renewable Fuel Standard to Implement Requirements of EISA; GHG Reduction and Indirect Land Use Change Effects Included

The law calls for indirect land use change to be part of the [lifecycle] analysis. It must also achieve a lifecycle GHG emission reduction of at least 60%, compared to the gasoline or diesel fuel it displaces. Second, its lifecycle GHG emissions must be at least 50% less than the gasoline or diesel fuel it displaces.
