They’ve seen Super Bowl ads for the GMC Hummer EV , or heard news about the lengthy, painful Chevrolet Bolt EV battery recall. GMC started as a commercial-truck brand, and made largely the same light-duty trucks as Chevrolet.

A 135 kWh battery pack under the cabin and bed powers four 150 kW (200 hp) electric motors, one per wheel. Total power is quoted as 600 kW (800 hp), though the two rear motors provide slightly higher torque than the fronts, to assist in off-road hill-climbing.
