The fuel costs we saw posted during our trip averaged $4 per gallon for 87 octane, which would be $276 gasoline costs, so advantage electric, but not by much. Clean Fleet Report spent several hours on a beautiful December Las Vegas day driving the 2023 Kia EV6 GT. Regenerative braking, which uses the motors to slow the car, recharges the battery when slowing or coasting converting kinetic energy into electric energy, which is stored in the battery.
