The California Energy Commission approved three major alternative fuel infrastructure agenda items totaling more than $6 million. An additional $5 million was approved to help fund environmental research to improve natural gas efficiency and $4 million to fund energy efficiency projects in schools.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) approved $17,223,593 for eight projects including alternative fuel production, plug-in truck demonstrations, EV charging station deployment, and infrastructure planning. The order also requires the installation of sufficient infrastructure to support 1 million ZEVs in California by 2020.
