This year Nissan will export the South African built Navara pickup trucks to new markets of Algeria, Libya, Sudan, Tunisia and Egypt, Nissan Africa product Marketing Director Stefan Haasbroek said. Nissan’s e-Power technology system includes a petrol engine with a power generator, inverter, battery and an electric motor.

In China, SEAT is a part of the JAC Volkswagen joint venture and preparations are being made for its entry in the world’s largest car market.

The EV launch comes as part of a product offensive, in which SEAT will launch one new car every six months until 2020. Of this amount, €464 million (US$572 million) were earmarked entirely for R&D, a figure which represents close to 3% of the total R&D investment expenses in Spain, making SEAT the leading industrial investor in Spain.
