For historical reasons, current California certification gasoline contains methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) as an oxygenate, and as such does not represent gasoline currently sold in California, which does not contain MTBE. The range of credits reflects the utility of the vehicle (i.e. Certification fuels.
