Mazda has been repositioning itself into the premium category, and the CX-90 will give it a larger SUV to compete with the Acura MDX , Buick Enclave , Kia Telluride , Hyundai Palisade , Subaru Ascent and Toyota Highlande r. liter 4-cylinder PHEV (plug-in hybrid). Performance numbers are 323 hp and 369 lb.-ft. kilowatt-hour battery.

The interior is beautiful during the light of day, but reserve your approvals for the dark of night when the 64-color active ambient lighting (a $790 option) gives the S500 many different feels. The two-line horizontal LED head and daytime running lights wrap onto the fenders, sit above functioning corner vents, which along with the narrow black grille in the lower fascia, continue the cross-hatch design of the upper grille. The sculpted front end incorporates LED head and daytime running lights sitting outside the wide, and not-so-large, tasteful new grille, which was finished in tinted chrome. Still “edgy” The front grille, with bright, distinctive hot foil stamping, is framed by the signature vertical LED lighting. The short rear deck, with a spoiler, leads to vertical LED tail and brake lights, and the twin chromed exhaust ports. If taking a road trip with four adults is in your plans, have them pack light.
