In efforts to scale EV charging infrastructure to support the expected rise of electric vehicles on the road, the UK government is set to increase the number of high-powered rapid chargepoints in England from 809 (as of 1 January 2020) to 6,000 by 2035. This growth will require high megawatt capacities across England’s road networks.

The California Air Resources Board launched a $20 million funding assistance program designed to spur the purchase of hybrid trucks and buses that reduce smog-forming pollution and address climate change. Transportation accounts for 40% of the total emissions of climate changing gases.

These funds were used to support projects that reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions by using alternative fuels. To achieve this goal, 20% of petroleum used in California cars will be replaced with clean alternatives, including electricity, biofuels, hydrogen and other options by 2020.
