Six trucking firms operating in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are deploying trucks powered by Cummins Westport (CWI) near-zero ISX12N engines ( earlier post ), and fueled with Clean Energy Fuels Corp.’s The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach provided funding for two additional near-zero trucks.

The ISL G NZ can operate on compressed, liquid, or renewable natural gas (RNG). The recent procurement of both CNG buses and engines will help the agency reduce its current NO x emissions by more than 90% in 2018. Operating ISL G NZ engines on RNG offers a significant GHG emissions benefit compared to fossil fuels.
