It was established in 2017 and is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, where Volvo has been for a long time (although the Polestar 2 is built in China). Any emissions for an EV come not from a tailpipe but from manufacturing, transportation and how the electricity to move it is produced. Still a bit of a mystery.
