Jeep global CEO Christian Meunier closed out 2021 by announcing his brand’s goal of becoming the “zero emission freedom brand,” with the Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV) as its first example. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe PHEV is powered by two electric motors and a 2.0-liter Road Test: 2017 Jeep Cherokee.

In the 20 year period of 1997-2017, the average miles per gallon (MPG) of new passenger cars increased to 39.4 As of today, less than 1% of vehicles on the road in the US are either BEVs or PHEVs. When 1 out of 10 vehicles on the road in America don’t use any gasoline, then that will have a real impact on fuel tax revenue.
