GAZ personnel were trained at Volkswagen and ŠKODA plants in Germany and the Czech Republic, and a new training center was opened at GAZ. With Scania the cooperation started in 2005 and resulted in the creation of CRUISE tourist coaches and VOYAGE-series inter-city coaches for sale on Russian and export markets.

Volkswagen Group outselling GM in China

For the first nine months of 2016, retail sales by GM and its joint ventures in China increased 9% on an annual basis to a record 2,718,315 units. of those September 2016 deliveries. The positive delivery performance in Poland and the Czech Republic in particular offset the slight decline in Russia (-2.5%).
