The autonomous drones, which operate as small planes instead of helicopters like other competitors, are launched from delivery locations and have an operating range of 50 miles. According to one of the company’s co-founders, Keller Cliffton, the drones had traveled a combined 36 million miles.

According to Zipline, each drone has an operational range of 50 miles from any launch point and has already proven itself in nearly a quarter million commercial deliveries worldwide since 2016. Walmart is completing initial testing in its home state of Arkansas, and Zipline has expanded to numerous other sectors.
