(Altairnano), a provider of lithium-ion energy storage systems, is pursuing federal funds associated with the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which includes $4.5 billion for the modernization of the US electricity grid. So far these have been combined with positive electrodes from common lithium ion batteries.
