The California Air Resources Board announced $3.7 million program that Governor Schwarzenegger approved in 2007 to spur technological innovation in the transportation sector. The California Air Resources Board directed its staff to take steps to provide further locomotive and rail yard emission reductions beyond those achieved by existing US Environmental Protection Agency and state regulations and agreements.
