Used Priuses, especially the Generation 2 that were made from 2004 to 2009 are becoming a bargain to buy, especially for the MPG and features you get in return. It was time to buy our first car. I was nervous as this was the first time that I was buying a car, so the experience was new to me. How did it all start?

At these prices, people are buying the "environmental feature" -- they want to be among the first owners of the worlds cleanest extended-range vehicles. They are early adopters, buying "Version 1.0" CalCars converted Priuses into a PRIUS+ at the 2006 and 2007 Maker Faire s. PHEVs with "Good Enough to Get Started" batteries.

In 2021, the IMU units you could buy off the shelf were pretty inexpensive and reliable. On right, the first AMP prototype, called Glass Man, built in 2006. On all my early attempts, about 30 Hz was enough to keep the robot stable. It still sounds pretty easy as I am describing it, but once you dig into the details, it gets tricky.
