We Promote PHEV Conversion Programs: First CalCars in 2004, then a number of aftermarket companies, have converted over 200 cars — at first most were for fleets, but more and more are going to individual owners. The easiest conversions are for 2004-2008 Prius (not 2001-2003 Prius) and the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner Hybrid.

Granholm announced that LG Chem will establish a new electrolyte production plant in Holland in West Michigan, expanding the state’s battery supply chain. LG Chem, which is supplying the battery for the new Chevy Volt, has a new contract with Ford Motor Company to supply the battery for the 2012 Ford Focus BEV.

The order from Busslink is Scania Sverige’s largest single bus transaction in the Swedish market since 2004. The 85 buses for Busslink will go into service on routes supplied from depots in the northern and southern suburbs of Stockholm. The buses that were just ordered will be equipped with third-generation Scania ethanol engines.
