One will be a PHEV version of the new Chrysler Town & Country minivan to be introduced in 2016; the second will be a PHEV version of a new full-size crossover vehicle to be introduced in 2017. FCA will launch a PHEV minivan in 2016 to comply with ZEV requirements. Several mild hybrid applications will come to market shortly thereafter.

Founded in 2003, Silicon Valley based Tesla Motors is currently the only car manufacturer in the US or Europe manufacturing and selling highway capable electric vehicles in serial production. Thankfully, since parts of the powertrain in the Circuit are also used in other Chrysler ENVI vehicles - like the all-electric USPS minivan that was unveiled earlier today - work that is done on one model can be applied to others. A troubled company. As a long time Mopar fan, seeing this company go under will hurt. Small size.

Gallery: Plugging in at home Battery swap stations are a concept often associated with Better Place , an EV infrastructure company. Forcing companies to conform to standardized batteries prevents them from designing better cars. Companies like ECOtality are already working with Nissan, which seems to have given up on battery swapping.
