In 2003 JEC issued its first Well-to-Wheels study, a type of analysis which takes into account the entire energy lifecycle of fuels and powertrains and their possible combinations. Producing synthetic gas (SNG) from wind electricity (e.g., High quality diesel fuel can be produced from natural gas (GTL) and coal (CTL).

Spiking demand for electric heat collided with supply problems created by frozen natural-gas equipment and below-average wind-power production. Packetized energy management (PEM) allows the power grid to flexibly handle a varying supply of renewable energy.

Once weve consolidated everything to depend on the grid, we can clean up everything by cleaning up the grid. excluding coal power in china. Neutral who? @ Now where to get that pesky hydrogen.

Despite this, a 2003 EPRI study , assuming only $2/gallon gas , zero buying incentives, and a PHEV premium of $3-$5,000 more than standard hybrids, shows that the total lifetime cost of ownership for a PHEV will be lower than that of any other vehicle type -- so the payback will be there. Whats Vehicle-to-Grid and why would I like it?
