So youll have a cleaner, cheaper, quieter car for your local travel, and the gas tank is always there should you need to drive longer distances.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Batteries not ready. Shifted earlier focus to all-electric Focus in 2011 with Magna. todays answer is "Yes -- but not yet."

Also ferrying guests about a short circuit (so to speak) was a smart fortwo imbued with a Tesla-engineered drivetrain, fruit of its effort to supply Daimler with battery packs for 1,000 smart eds. I wish the thing was for sale as-is. For 20k at that size it should have been electric to begin with. from the Tesla Roadster.
