Porsche 914 EV Conversion

Summer events have held me back from working on the 914EV, so I headed out to Portland International Raceway to get a boost of inspiration from NEDRA (National Electric Drag Racing Association) to continue the project. The purple box in the center of the cycle is a Zilla2K (2000 amp DC controller). Here are some photos.

WattEV this week announced the opening of a solar-powered charging station for medium-duty and heavy-duty commercial trucks in Bakersfield, California. A compatible cable and connector will be available on the company’s Power Link 2000 stations, delivering up to 1.2 megawatts, according to a ChargePoint press release.

They think BYD has a shot at becoming the worlds largest automaker, primarily by selling electric cars, as well as a leader in the fast-growing solar power industry. By about 2000, BYD had become one of the worlds largest manufacturers of cellphone batteries. But Buffett and Munger and Sokol think it is a very big deal indeed.
