Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX covers more than 621 miles on single charge

At times, the VISION EQXX sliced through the wind at speeds of up to 140 km/h (87 mph). With its low cd value of 0.17, it gives the wind virtually nothing to grab hold of. The VISION EQXX solar roof’s 117 solar cells feed the 12-volt battery, which supplies power to auxiliary consumers such as the navigation system.

GM commits to 100% renewable energy by 2050

General Motors plans to generate or source all electrical power for its 350 operations in 59 countries with 100% renewable energy—such as wind, sun and landfill gas—by 2050. The company expects to exceed this when two new wind projects come online later this year to help power four manufacturing operations.

Porsche’s 800V electric sports car Taycan makes world debut

The Taycan is the first production vehicle with a system voltage of 800 volts instead of the usual 400 volts for electric cars. The electric motors: synchronous motors with hairpin winding. While conventional winding processes have a copper filling factor of around 45%, the filling factor is just under 70 percent in this case.
