Toyota to increase Highlander output, including hybrid and exports, in Indiana

Highlander is currently sold in Russia and Australia, and TMMI will export to those countries. TMMI currently employs 4,800 and builds the Highlander, Sequoia full-size SUV and Sienna minivan. Annual Highlander production volume is expected to increase by approximately 50,000 units at TMMI.

KPMG survey finds global auto execs ranking fuel efficiency the top consumer priority

With regard to investment in global growth markets, respondents predict increased investment in China (58%), India (50%), Brazil (41%) and Russia (33%). The vehicle categories seeing the most significant response increases in the 2011 survey compared with 2010 were SUVs, luxury vehicles, large pick-up trucks, and cross-overs.
